That is a LOT of storage in your build!!

BTW,a few build pictures would not go amiss!!

Re: Help/advice on new desktop PC build please?

I know! I've got stacks of smaller HDD's (500GB, 1.5TB, 2TB etc) that I'm hoping to start consolidating onto these 3TB drives then get rid of anything smaller than 2TB. Would it be advisable to leave a gap between each HDD for better heat/air flow management inside the R4 case?

Still can't decide if I should have gone for an Intel Core i7-3770K CPU with this mobo or just stuck with the Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H and Intel Xeon X3-1230 v2 combo - your thoughts???

I'm sure I'll have a question or two during the actual build!

    Will certainly take some photo's.

As I mentioned before,if you are going to overclock get the Core i7 3770K and if not get the Xeon E3 1230 V2.

Re: Help/advice on new desktop PC build please?

Desktop built, just cable management under the motherboard left (it's like a spaghetti junction...so messy at the moment!)

I must say I wasn't bowled over by how silent this build is. I can't hear at least one fan, not sure if it's the additional BeQuiet Silent Wings 2 that I added to the rear of the top of the case or if it's the Gelid CPU cooler?

    Will post some photos soon.
