A7N8X-E 4.1 Problem

Just got a A7N8X-E deluxe mobo and Ive installed the cd that came with it and installed sp2.

Now my Cambridge Soundworks 4.1 will only work in 2 speaker mode, I know all four are working as I can just swap the jack over and it outputs in the other two speakers!

Any ideas what Im doing wrong here?

Just use the onboard sound...It's pretty good!

Is A7N8X-E deluxe soundstorm audio? I assume so.. if it is, have you got the soundstorm config utility? If so, which you should, then is the speaker mode set to 2 speaker rather then 5.1? There is an option in there somewhere...

Ah speakers not soundcard!! There setup speaker setup button in the NV Mixer panel that should sort it out. I kinda prefere the old sound driver it lets you turn front rear speakers Spdif etc. on/off manually.

Does the newer one not?! I never bothered getting it...

the Newer driver just has a selection of 2 speakers, 4 sperkers , headphones and 5.1 Dolby Digital sound oh and Cine Headphone support which is great in games! You can't just tick a box to ture on stuff like LFE, Dolby Digital and Center Speaeker.... you have to use the wizord. But the new driver are deffinitly all around better, you should definitly download them.

Just reformatted and all was fine, used sp1 this time though
