No display with IDE to Sata adapter

Hi all, so I bought an IDE to Sata adapter off eBay and it hasn't worked out as I planned. So when I turn the computer on all the fans start and carry on spinning etc but nothing appears on the screen.

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-Way-IDE-...-/220779924864

The IDE HDD still had windows on it but I recently reinstalled on a new HDD. Although I copied most files from the ide HDD I clumsily forgot some as well.

I've tried disconnecting the new HDD so there isn't a conflict but this hasn't solved anything. Excluding the IDE I have two HDDs one for windows that I disconnected and another do files.

So any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

So your HDD is IDE and your connecting to a SATA motherboard? Using that adaptor your need to use the SATA plug nearest to the white power plug on the adaptor.

You will need to plug a molex power connector into both the power socket on the HDD and also to the power connector on the adaptor.

Re: No display with IDE to Sata adapter

Possibly not sure what to change though and I can't change anything with the adapter, so hopefully there's a setting I can change before using the adapter to make it work

Edit: I solved the problem by changing the HDD jumper to Master
