PSU: PC Power & Cooling?

I'm looking at getting a new PSU, which has to be able to run the bits listed here. You might need to manually switch the 100% utilization Yes/No radio button to Yes - I'd prefer to give the PSU some breathing room in terms of power draw, thus using worst-case usage as a benchmark.

As far as I can find, PC Power & Cooling's TurboCool 510 is one of the few ATX power supplies that can supply the current (29.5A) I need on the +12v rail (All others I've come across are intended for server boards). The only thing that makes me hesitate is that I haven't heard of them before, although all the reviews I've come across seem to be happy. Overall, would you say this PSU is a wise choice?

enermax psu have the best 12v amp ratings my 550w has 36amp on the 12v , the new ones have seperate rails now - 1 for the mobo and 1 for everything else so the amp rating looks lower than it actually is

also i wouldnt really trust that power calculator

Might I ask why you wouldn't trust that calculator? Generic values? Granted, I only put in the drives' current draw, but that by far makes up the bulk of it.

And specifically, which model Enermax do you have?

PC Power & cooling have a reputation as being the best domestic PSU that you can get. It is only recently that they have become available in the UK & of course you pay a lot more for 1 than e.g. an Antec.
How is availability & support in S.A or are you having to import from USA yourself?

Availibility and support, basically zilch. I would have to import it myself, insomuch that I plan to make use of their international ordering facilities, so I won't lose the backing of the warranty.

You can get PC Power 510 Deluxes from 2 places in the UK but I dont know if they would ship to SA.

PC Power and Cooling are one of the few brands I'd trust alongside Antec, Enermax, etc. Quality comes as standard.

You will pay for it though.

Enermax Coolergiant might be worth a look as well, and the Antec TrueControl 550

I've already taken a look at all the PSUs Antec offer - none of them meet the 30A requirement on the +12v line, topping out at 26A on the two 550 models, if I recall. The NeoPower also comes close, but not quite.

I'll take a look at Enermax's site again, but if I do find anything, it becomes a question of availibility here.

I love my PCP&C Turbo Cool 510 deluxe

But I'll say one thing please don't confuse the rated power to that of other supplies
PCP&C rate the output correctly and while it would seem lower is actually higher
than e.g. a 550W enermax.

why you say because PCP&C rate output as continuous output at 40deg, enermax rate the outputs at peak output. a PCP&C 510 is 650w peak against enermax's 550.

/edit ** don't quote me on this but if I recall correct peak is 42amp on 12v
for the PCP&C against quoted 34A for continuious rating.

Got mine via a buddy stateside but TBH not much difference purchasing from UK
cost wise.
