    Gaming Headphones - Recommendations please.

    Evening Gentlepeeps

Now that I am playing a lot of Mechwarrior Online and using Teamspeak, I need a better headset.

The ones I have are a cheapo pair designed for telephones and they keep falling off my big melon head.

Not wanting to spend a fortune as, well cos I am skint.

anyone recommend a cheap set around the 20 quid mark that are good?

Been looking on eBay but no idea what is a good brand or not. Seen a lot of cheap ones, but look 'cheap and nasty'

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Good.. not especially. But try something like:

    http://www.ebuyer.com/195324-steelse...-headset-61012
or if you want a better mic:
    http://www.ebuyer.com/245264-plantro...adset-79730-05

There are better ones further up the steelseries range that you should be able to get b grade or second hand, and you may even be able to get some corsair or sennheiser headsets if they're old enough.

I'm currently using Turtle beach x12s Never had any complaints about my voice, and it records fairly clear and the sound is decent, I paid around the £25 from argos around a year ago.

Re: Gaming Headphones - Recommendations please.

I have a set of Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000, ear cups are padded and comfy and they've lasted me sodding ages. Although as Aexl above posted, Turtle Beach's are another good option, I liked my old TB headst but had to replace them when I sort of crushed it under the wheels of my chair - oops.

    Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000

Turtle Beach X11 (as that's the one I used to have)
I couldn't find them sold anywhere.. The official site page
So yeah, discontinued - can't speak on the quality of the other TB headsets and the X11's are the ones i had

    Logitech G35

Amazing surround sound (also blocks out all other noise)

    Not a bad microphone

    Uses USB though :/

avoid USB headsets. Bought one and it lasted less than a year. The current creative fatality headset i wear i've had for over 6 years and still works perfectly.

Go for the Plantronics dsp 400 at around £32......have had two pairs of these....superb sound, last for at least three years, light, agile and for the price better than anything else I have tried at twice the price!!

It's not necessarily fair to judge every USB headset on the planet based on that though.

been using my new headphones for a few days now and what a difference between them and my old set. Much better sound and no pesky feedback from them.

Sennheiser HD598 (of 595 if you can find any) - very very good detail, nice bass and best of all it has amazing sound stage for the price.

They're slightly out of the £20 ballpark the OP was looking for.
