Anyone had to RMA Corsair RAM??

I got a 8GB set off Scan in late 2011. It appears one of the DIMMs is starting to produce errors.

Now looking at the warranty,it seems it is a limited lifetime warranty,so I expect I should be able to RMA it. Now would that be directly to the retailer(Scan) or back to Corsair??

Re: Anyone had to RMA Corsair RAM??

If Scan advertised it as having a lifetime warranty then it's officially through them, though whether they would just return it to Corsair or have replacement in stock/willingness to replace is another matter.

Often with Corsair you have to go back to them, they have little orange leaflets in the box about it, but if you bought from Scan they handle it. I remember the making a fuss about it when they started doing it, but can't find a link.

Re: Anyone had to RMA Corsair RAM??

Corsair prefer you to RMA the item directly with them. Only problem is it has to go to the Netherlands (at least for my brother's PSU it did). Their service and turnaround considering the postage distance is pretty good though.

i think scan are the uk centre for RMAing corsair stuff after people got pissy with the shipping costs to europe.

Re: Anyone had to RMA Corsair RAM??

I've had to RMA some Corsair memory they were quite quick. I think it had to go to the Netherlands, (if my memory serves me right (sorry bad pun)). They did turn it round within 24 hrs of receiving it.

Re: Anyone had to RMA Corsair RAM??

I rma'd some vengeance last year, Did it through their corsair support forum. Made me do a memtest86+ before accepting there was a problem. the memtest tool is on the forum page to the left. If you haven't tested it yet, let it go through a few passes as mine did't find any faults until the 3rd pass, all 3000 errors. http://forum.corsair.com/v3/index.php

Re: Anyone had to RMA Corsair RAM??

Thanks everyone for the replies. One of the DIMMs shows errors under both Memtest86+ and HCI MemTest,in two different machines. BTW,technodean did you need to send the RAM to the Netherlands or was it in the UK?? Posting it to Scan would be cheaper I suspect, although Corsair would be quicker.

Re: Anyone had to RMA Corsair RAM??

I sent it back to the seller as corsair gave me the option of both because it was only a few months old.
