Re: S775 ITX HTPC Build Thread

The brick is a 150, but I seem to have it in my head that the PSU is only 120. Ill see if I can find my order confirmation...

Edit - seems like the PicoPSU is actually a 160W... result!

Im going to pull out the optical disk drive as thats now redundant, so the devices will be:
    Zotac 9300 Wifi
E5440 with the Antec cooler (one PWM fan)
    4GB RAM
    1 x SSD
    Maybe 1 x HDD?
    1 x Noctua Fan
    1 x BGT3630 Twin Tuner card

I reckon I will be ok?

Re: S775 ITX HTPC Build Thread

I also havent really posted any pics of my dremel work or anything on here, thought I had tbh...

Other things that have happened with this that I havent posted:

That OCZ drive just flat out didn't work. I stuck in an old Intel one I had kicking about.

The front panel got pulled off in transit and took the little clips that act as a hinge with it.... Its going to be hidden away behind the television anyway so it doesn't really matter.... but it annoys me. The clip to hold the top of the flap in when the hinge elements are present are still there, so I'll post up some pics and see if you guys have any creative suggestions.

Re: UPDATED - Zotac 9300 with 771 Xeon, NextPVR, Raspb Pi

So for those who are curious to see my dremel skills:

Not too bad result I thought!

Here is a couple of other random snaps:

The 771 CPU arrived, as did the pin mod stickers.

Here is the modification you have to to the socket

Kinda hard to see but you basically have to remove the plastic guides that only enable you to insert the CPU in the correct way.

Here is the sticker attached to the CPU

First time i tried to boot it up, it didn't work. I just got a constant beep. I reseated the RAM and cleared the CMOS and.....

I also ran Prime 95 for a little while and didn't experience anything unusual.
I have been experiencing some nvidia driver crashes, but I'm fairly confident its not related to the CPU or power usage as prime 95 didn't crash it.

Re: UPDATED - Zotac 9300 with 771 Xeon, NextPVR, Raspb Pi

I have had absolutely no luck with stopping the Nvidia driver kernel crashes after a couple of attempts trying to fix it, so I figured I would give up and go back to windows 7 where the support might be a little better.
Well after a pretty frustrating time, I have finally managed to get this thing to boot into Windows 7. Turns out this motherboard doesn't like 320GB Momentus XT drives and is very picky about BIOS options regarding AHCI. Lots of trawling through this thread at AVS has been done to make any progress.

In positive news, I have had it running with the DVD drive connected, an SSD and a 2.5" hard drive so im confident there is extra capacity on the Pico PSU.

Tasks for the rest of today are:
    1. Get Next PVR running again.
    2. Get the MySQL Kodi database on here so that the Pi's all reference the same thing.
