Minor problem with Logitech Cordless Desktop Elite whatever it is

Basically I want to use the keyboard only and not the mouse, as I'm getting a new mouse tomorrow.

When I plug the receiver into the PS2 socket (Currently plugged into USB, want to use mouse in USB and that's the only available socket) it won't work in Windows. Works when booting up (selecting the OS) but not once I get into Windows.

Any ideas? I've tried pressing the connect buttons till the cows come home but to no avail.

Don't make me plug it into my hub! Lol
