ok i've just come up with this...
CPU AMD Sempron 2600 £60
Motherboard Abit NF7-S £64
Memory Corsair Value 512MB £68
CD Writer/DVD Liteon 52x/52x/32x/16 £29
Graphics 9600 Pro £80
Hard Drive Hitachi 7K250 160gig £65
Monitor Hyundai 17’ £230
Case and power Antec Black quiet / 350watt £56
Speakers Optional
Keyboard/Mouse Microsoft Optical Desktop £29
Mouse mat Optional
Delivery Approx. £15
TOTAL £696
You can get a Barton XP2500+ for £60 that will outperform that Sempron.
Worth considering that for an extra £15 she can get an 8X Dual Layer DVD-R/RW (e.g. NEC 2510) that will also write CDs.
Consider the Sonata instead of that Antec (3700BQE?) - better PSU - True Power instead of SmartPower
You can buy that MS Kb & optical mouse set for under £20 oem.
I'm not up on TFT's so somebody who is can say whether or not it's good.
Other than that seems fair.
I would suggest a smaller HD + possibly a 9800 Pro (depending on what the PC is going to be used for).
only game she would play.. well her daughter play is Sims 2 and the like...
so think the 9800 pro would be overkill, what do you reckon, what other gfx card suggestions ?
