from what i've read, the gigaworks aren't as good as the Logitech Z680s which aren't as good as the Z-5500s

The Klipsch have tweeters as well as mid range drivers so should have better treble than the logis but they're not very readily available

The folks at 3dss would greatly disagree with the above statement..

(thats a very short thread, there have been much longer threads where people debated the various speakers, but in all cases, most of the debates were between the Klipsh and the Gigaworks)

Though the 2x better is a bit exagerated having heard both, I do favor the later by a significant margin. I've not heard the Z-5500 though.

Many consider Klipsh Ultra as having to ultimate subs (not just boomy a la 560/Z680) and very respectable sats (trebble/mid-range).
Unfortunately, I can't comment on those as I've not listened to them first hand..

On a side note, 3dss will be doing a review of the Ultras sometime.. so it might be worth keeping an eye:

(If you look at their reviews, they are generally quite detailed)

Hello Peeps Im one of the few PPL with a Klipsch Promedia 5.1 surround sound speakers in the Uk which are slightly below the ultras in sound quality. I have owned creative high end solutions and I can defiantely say My klipsch rules.

My friends have cheap to Expensive speakers and believe me they want mine ! Been offered money for them by a few of my friends !

There was one retailer for Klipsch in the Uk but they have stopped doing them now

@azrael1: What high end solutions do you own from Creative? Though I've not heard the ProMedia's and have no doubt they are great, considering how hotly debated the Gigaworks and the Ultras were at 3dss (a large number of them own expensive component systems for what its worth), I doubt its so one sided.
I would definitely want to audition the Ultras if I get the chance when I go to the US/Asia at some point.

As for the Logitech, I'll wait and see more opinions once more people got it. If more people say interesting things about it, I'll consider auditioning as well. I know someone who swears by Logitech, so maybe he might get it (esp. with Chrismas coming).. Personally though, I've not been overly impressed by either the 560 and the 680.

    Hello

I owned the Megawords 510D 5.1 Surround at one point. The promedis are simply mind blowing but unless u can get one from europe dont bother. Usa ones will need step down transformers and for that power useage they are not cheap. This is after talking to the technical support guys at Klipsch. Europes ones just need a plug change ! If ure in the Uk dude just go for the creatives which are fine. I will stick to my Klipsch though. Plus its so amazing when ppl come round and theyre like where do I buy ure speakers from !
