so i dont't wanna get teh nf7-s v2 (i own one, and the problems with sound in CS really piss me off, so any other sugestions would be appreciated, VIA or nForce based mobo's only -not after a overclocking type mobo eithre.
cheers
bledd.
what problems? afiak theres only sound quality problems, mine are fixed by putting a heatsink on the southbridge - not sure but i recon increasing the northbridge voltage also does the south, causing it to get much hotteri own one, and the problems with sound in CS really piss me off
-do you mean update AFTER 2.45 poack? -what to..Originally posted by Agent
Its not a NF7-S issue.
Update your audio driver from the 2.45 pack.
-installed a heatsink, -still get probs.Originally posted by |SilentDeath|

tried some 3rd party hacked drivers, they had same prob :/
-gona install my GTXP again
Weird.... I've never come across any problems with the sound on my nf7-s..
It is a v2.0 though.. Is yours the same?
How about the AT7-MAX2? 10 USB (6 USBv2.0) and 2 Firewire. AMD board, based on the KT400 chipset.
i was building a pc for a m8 consisting of a Abit KV7 (via kt600).
it is quite a good board tbh, not as overclockable as most nf2 boards but still nice cheap and stable.
it did not come with any firewire ports but there was firewire i/o headers on the board iirc
only in certain games.Originally posted by acidrainy

CS in A3D mode for example.
will prolly go with the kt600..
Well, I had - and still have - sound corruption problems with my NF7-S v2.0 mobo when using my dvb-s tv card. It corrupts any digital sound (i.e. sound coming from wav, avi, game, etc) when you move a window around. Drag a normal window (notepad, IE, whatever) and listen to your sound go all horrible. Still haven't found out what causes it.
So, to return to your original question - whether it is or isn't an Abit specific issue, I still wouldn't buy one again considering all the main manufacturers now have released updated 200mhz capable mobos. They should be reliable and trouble-free whether you're overclocking or not.
Just my 2 pennies worth venting my anger
