    Disappearing wifi modules

    Hi all, my first post

    I have two SN41G2's both with the PN11 wifi modules which worked great for 6weeks or so.

    On both systems the PN11's keep disappearing, i.e not recognised at all under system properties hardware. A reboot does not bring them back but they are back again if the power is pulled.

    I have exchanged them both for new ones and the problem has started again.

    From this post http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.php?t=30623 i see that maybe the power is always on to the motherboard / usb and i might be able to change a setting in the bios to prevent this. Hopefully if the power to the usb is cut on shutdown this will prevent the PN11's from disapearing but i cant see how to do this in the bios.

    Anybody heard of this before and any ideas

    Thanks

    Doma - yes it was and the box to allow the computer to turn back on on wake up was greyed out! Seems to have worked - thanks a lot

    changing the power off features has not helped and from what i can tell people have been getting the same problems with pn11 and similar problems with the usb card readers plugged into the motherboard - must be a board problem

    Probably a power supply issue in that the resettable fuses are tripping, hence why power needs cutting to get them to work again.

    I have a similar issue with my mouse/keyboard sometimes, although it is on first startup that they trip out (not running a shuttle though.)

    It may be the design of the motherboard causing this.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();
