the lansing's are 4.1
they are not 5.1 or 6.1 or even 7.1
If you read the original post, it says "looking for 2.1 speakers".
In my mind that doesn't mean 4.1.

i have seen these before & was tempted but the sub looks huge & as you said 2.1 is what I'm really after
As do i. The 2.1 speakers mentioned by Howard were creative. Read the threadOriginally posted by Sinizter
I personally like the creatives range of speakers.
Steve
the creatives look a little bulky for me. Want something a bit smaller has anyone got experience of TDK's speakers

The Videologic ZXR-200 are great for budget 2.1. It has a slim-line sub and 2 discrete sats. Treble, bass and balance ctrls on the sub and it's all silver too. It isn't going to deafen anyone but may be what you're looking for? Anyway this is reportedly better than the Altec Lansing 221 which competes directly with it. I also hear Logitech make good speakers too. Of course you can always buy 4.1 speakers and just use the 2 sats, keep the others as spares or for the future perhaps? There's more info and experiences on 4.1+ speakers to ensure you make a good decision.
Thought about the Videologic ones but was unsure about how big the satellites were - just under 40 quid from dabs is pretty good.
