New Overclockers Help

hey im a proud first time DIY, i learned a bunch of stuff from this first time. But now i want to push my system and dont wanna spend more money.

I have an athlon 64 3200+ socket 754 processor riding on a Gigabyte K8NSNXP, and a Gigabyte of Corsair Value 3200 on one stick (Next time I DIY i will not select value memory....they have terrible timings).
I also dont have any SATA drives just 2x 60 GB IDE drives on RAID 0 and an extra 200 gb drive just sitting there. I have a stock heat sink and a crappy video card (AIW 9200 - to be upgraded).

Ok so i decide to do some overclocking of my CPU.
Im new so i was cautious at first. I brought my system bus up to 202...no problems...went up to 209 (2.3 Ghtz) no problems.... i bring it to 219 (2.4 ghtz) and windows wont boot, so i bring i to 212 and it works fine.

I run some tests and its pretty nice at this speed....but something weird...in everest home edition....my memory registers as DDR 3400. Im guessing that this is normal. But i would like to know how to get my processor to run at 3400+ speeds (2.4 GHTZ). A link to an overclocking guide would be helpful.

Run dividers, like 5:6, 5:4
This is how u work it out :

Say you want bus speed 250, and you are running divider 5:4, you divide 250/5=50 then
if you times 50x4=200 Now this 200 is your mem clockWhich should stay in the region of 190-212.

So you want 2.6 ghz right ? so bus speed would be 2600/11=240, if u run a divider of 6:5, ur memory would be running at 196Mhz(abt PC3150) and your FSB at 240 which gives you abt 2.5ghz. You can increase the fsb until ur memory is unstable. (u said it is satble at 212 so, you can increase the fsb to 256(212-196).

See it all depends pn what FSB yo want ? and how much mhz you want.
And make sure ur pci and agp lock is on.

Is hard drive data corruption a big issue in overclocking? Say if I was back at 212 x 11, with no divider at the time, what would the biggest problems be for staying at that overclock?

Only if you are running at SATA 1+2*i think*

Today i decided to try out what you have said.
I went into the BIOS and I found no AGp/PCI lock....is there a cetin value you need to set it to lock?

and as for dividers....how do I actually implement those? I saw no setting for dividers.

I went back to the BIOS and found a setting that could probably be dividers, it was labeled Frequency Ratio or something to that extend. It had a number that you could increase from 5 and up. So if this is the divider, then if i put 5 here, then it will be 5:4? And if i put 11, it would be 11:10? so on?
