    Shuttle XPC PS dies

So I'm kinda angry, this is the second Shuttle SFF box that has had the power supply die. Each one, I got about 20 months of use, and then the power supply died. The first one was the SV24, and now the SB51G. I'm not to eager to spend another $70 on a new power supply to only have it last another 18-20 months. Have other people noticed this?

Had the same thing happen on my SN45GV2 after about 3 months. It happened on power up so I am not sure if it got a spike or not but there was a distinct popping noise (no burning smell).

The company I bought it off offered to replace it but, get this, I had to return the entire machine stripped to its original state including paying the shipping costs! Screw that.

I got a replacement for £50 of slightly higher spec (PC40N250EV) which has lasted for the past 10 months, trouble free. I am slightly nervous though of buying a high spec graphics card or putting in a 2nd hard drive in case I overload it.

Anyone here have a source on a 350W PSU for the SN25P? I'm not sure yet as I haven't recieved the shuttle, but the guy I bought it from says the PSU is dead. SO I thought while I wait for it to arrive I'd source one out. Shuttle isn't responding to my emails so I thought I'd try here.

The power supply for the SN25P is not available for purchase as a replacement. All SN25P are still covered by the 2-year warranty, so a defective PSU can be serviced/replaced through your Shuttle reseller.

Irresistablguy: whom/how did you email Shuttle?

well the thing is I wasn't the original purchaser. Not to worry though, local guy fixed the psu for $50.

I can't remember who I emailed, it was just some tech support email addy that was on the site.
