New Corsair K70 RGB

Just seen new product listings on Scan and OCUK for new Corsair K70 RGB keyboards:

Would be good to see a hardware refresh after the release of the too-similar/superior (usb pass-through?) Strafe RGB keyboards, but it looks like only a 'new logo' is being advertised.

Any idea if these are improved other the current k70s? Or other thoughts? (£150!?)

Meh, £150 and they still fail to produce them with standardised cap sizes on the modifiers. Pass.

Spreadie, Yeah that's true really unnecessary proprietary nonsense.

I do really like the look of them though, and changing keycaps probably wouldn't be something I'd do tbf. What mech keyboard would you recommend over the k70?

Depends what you want - If you're set on RGB your options are limited. Coolermaster are doing a multicolour backlight board (Quick Fire XTi) but they don't use RGB clear body switches which reduces the efficacy of the backlight on multi legend caps like the number row; and it isn't any cheaper than the K70.

I use a Rapid-i at home and a customised 6GV2 at work. The 6G is non standard, with the big-ass enter key but it's fine for work - I ain't leaving £100 worth of keyboard at the office all the time. I've had several boards, and about half were backlit. TBH, I'm happy with a single colour board, so a standard Ducky Shine would be my choice of a full sized board, although my preferred format is TKL with a separate NumPad.
