Budget System For My Cousin

He has about £580 to spend, and wants a TFT and an acrylic case withs lotsa lights, wireless keayboard etc....he likes that stuff.

Let me know anything you think I should change, or could couse a problem.

can he afford just a extra 30 pounds to save his house from burning down?

get him a nice tagan 420 watt for around 45 pounds i think.......you will have done the right thing

600w for 20 pounds just isnt good, it will die and take about 3 pieces of hardware with it after a while i assure you-im not sure if a q-tec for that price is worse, but never buy power supplys that cheap especially if they are above 500w

also that TFT i was wondering why not have a gander over to bargain hunt and see if you can find a 17inch for the same price or 10 pounds cheaper

otherwise it seems like a nice system, hope he enjoys the sheer light radiation from the fans and lights!

As for the PSU... Does the case come with one? Ditch that Ebuyer one and use the one wiht the case. It'll be fine

tbh ive used 3 ebuyer 500w £10 PSU's and they have been very good. silent, nice rails (backed up by multimeter) and pretty heavy (heavy = build quality). Very good value imo

also, for the monitor get the Aria 17" 16ms one for £130 lots more real estate and its a pretty decent monitor if your not doing any precision graphics work. I used it on this build for my dad's workmate:

The reviews for the Ebuyer PSU have been great, even though i know its not 600W, probably 350W if I'm lucky. No PSU comes with the case BTW.

Yeh, I was thinking about that Aria 17" TFT, but with delviery and all, it would be over hes budget, which was initially £500, but became £580 after I convinced him.

I think its gonna turn out alright, but I still dont understand why he wants an acrylic case with lots of lights, its gonna annoy him to hell, and he will regret it.

He isnt going to be playing HL2 or Doom. He not really a big fan of PC games, he just wants it to look good, and surf the net.

What I said has nothing to do with gaming.

DVI offers a huge improvement in picture quality making a TFT worthwhile
