Power supply grounding...

I have begun setting up my new computer, my powersupply is a real beast, weighs a ton compared to my featherweight old one...
its a Tagan, which has come with loads of cabling!! (too much perhaps?)
just a bit confused as to where I put this golden looking hoop on the end of a wire labelled 'GND/RTN'...yes, yes, I know its the grounding wire but where does it go?

p.s. I found this (linky go to the 5th one down or go here for detailed spec.s) and was wondering if its worth the 45 squids it'll cost (incl vat and p&p)...?

I know what you mean about the hundred-weight of cable that sprouts out of this power supply. It's not only the sheer volume of cable but it's not very manoeuvrable either.

I have a Tagan 480W and a Thermaltake Tsunami case. The Tagan came with 5 fixing screws. I used four of those to secure the PSU to the case and the 5th one to fix the grounding cable to the case. I found what appeared to be a purpose built mounting point towards the base of the 5.25 inch drive cage (basically a threaded hole).

Obviously, if you've got a different case then you may or may not have a grounding point and if you have one it may be in a different location.

I bolted it on to my motherboard as close to the power regulators as possible. It's intended to givve a better ground for components on the board - the PSU itself is grounded via the mains cable.

i'm thinking about getting a better/newer case... as posted above. but I see what you mean about the 5th screw being used for the grounding cable. I shall have asnoop around.
btw the new case I'm looking for should have enough space so I can shove cbles etc out of the way above the cd/dvd drives and have tons of space left over....as it is there's no space to connect the drives to the mobo at all!
thankfully it comes with some cool velcro ties.

Tagan have really thought carefully about this product, i'm very pleased I got it, despite the rather heft price tag. ha ha! I get it, tagan, tag...
