Underclocked Multiplier for XP T-Breds? Possible?

I'm about to power on an Athlon XP 2200+ hooked up to my Jetway V333DA. Problem is my M/b only has manual jumper settings for upto x12.5 multiplier. The board supports upto 2600+ (266fsb) with a BIOS update...but I'm worried that I wont be able to do that if I can't initially power the 2200+ at an initial x12.5 multiplier.

Can anyone confirm if Athlon XP T-Bred's can be multiplier underclocked?

If the answer is no, can anyone think of a way to update the BIOS in my situation...I've got the floppy ready and waiting......

my 2600+ would show as a 2200 (even 1700+) sometimes when my bios battery was on the blink, but i'm not an authority on such things. i should think (in my educated guess kinda way) that it is possible.
