safety cut off due to cpu temp? The fact that it starts up briefly then cuts out may point to a safety feature cutting in e.g. hsf not fitted ok

Ensure the CPU fan is connected to the motherboard's CPU fan socket correctly, check for any screws under the board causing a short.

If you can try another power supply?

Are these boards any good? Will the XP120 fit? Looking for an SLI mobo to replace my Asus which is causing no end of trouble, and people seem to love this one...?

Mines A01 but works fine. A hundred times better than the asus a8n sli. XP-120 fits fine and you can still use all four dimms. Got mine from cpucity too along with an a64 3000+ that does 2700mhz Prime stable on air with 1.48V

    Sweeeeet.
I'm tempted to bang an order in now at CPUCITY, and argue with Overclockers about the RMA of the Asus later.. probably much later.. when I actually get through to them on the phone to moan that they haven't sent the RMA mail I requested 3 days ago....

Maybe I could try smoke signals..

overclockers still owe me £20 cos i had to send back the wrong psu they sent me. too much hassle to call them at the moment. but yeah, the service at cpucity is great. asked him for the weeks of ath64 cpus, and revisions of the dfis. he told me to order online, as i will get confirmation emails and i can track it.

Pudds which stepping/code did you get?

So far I am thinking codeis alot more important than week, as long as its after 46...

OCUK phone system is dead. Only wayto contact them is to write a letter.. (and send recorded!!!!)

uretsai - did they let you chose the stepping or just say what they have? Id liek to chose but I cant imagine some bloke sittting by the phone with a tray of 100's of OEM AMD64's loooking through them all reading out all the codes... lol

Does anyone know OcUK's returns policy.. If they agree the mobo is faulty (which they had better do after I've rinsed an week of my life trying to get it to work), will they refund, or do they just credit?

I wanna get this system up and running ASAP - and if I have to purchase from somewhere else to do it, I will - but I don't wanna be lumbered with a replaced Asus board if they refuse to give my money back...
