    The Akasa Evo HSF

    Remember the days when all you needed was a passive heatsink to keep your processor at a suitable temperature? Processors have gotten a lot more powerful since then, and by the same token consume a lot more power. Over the last few years we've seen some weird and wonderful heatsink/fan designs, all attempting to keep the CPU from burning up and also to introduce a bit of the 'ooooh' factor into cooling. Enter Akasa's Evo for Intel and AMD systems. Sideways blowing fans are the in thing right now, which is the technique used on this new cooler. Heatpipe technology and 33 fins help dissipate the heat.

    Cooling design aside, it looks quite nice, and wouldn't look out of place in a windowed system. Check out Akasa's product flyer here.

    Thoughts?
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    IMO, the asus star ice might be a bit better because that uses copper and this one uses aluminium but we'll have to wait and see.

    It uses aluminium fins which I thought were better for heat dissipation (correct me if I am wrong) - dunno if the base is copper tho - here's hoping.

    yes, you are correct, the aluminium IS better at dissipating heat but like i said before, we have to wait and see.
