Hard Drive Making a Slighlty Strange Noise

Got a Samsung 160GB drive from dabs about 3 weeks ago and today the seek noise has increased quite a bit. From more of a clutter noise to a sort of clutter/grinding noise.

I was never sure if the drive was quite right as it has always made very audiable seeks even though everyone says samsungs are some of the quietest seeking drives around (Acoustic managment set to maximum)

What should i do? I've got about 60GB on here and have a 40GB drive i can back up onto, is it likely that the samsung is going to break down?

    Thanks
    Ben

    Backup.
If a HD *ever* makes unusual noises, backup backup backup.

I had to go to small claims to get a RMA of a motherboard which was acknowledged to have a design fault by the manufactures themselves, but that’s another story.
Most people seem to have better experiences than me though. Users.hexus.net pimpage time

It may be worthwhile having a bash with this too matey
