If they could do an Amiga for around £250, with a HD, internet and DvD
Thats impossible, you'd probably be looking at about £399 like the AMIGA 1200 was when it launched. I don't think they are yet after going that sort of market yet.

IIRC one company did buy the rights to develop set-top boxes based around amiga hardware, but that was a while ago and my memory is a bit foggy now lol.

Access Innovations made the Inside Out Amiga... A1200 mobo (redesigned) in a SFF box.

I *should* be collecting one in the near future since I hold some negotiating power (me has the custom ROM images the co. need!!!)

Index/access sure they were linked. You heard anything on what happened to the A1200 on a card for PCs? I know prototypes floating around but I'm not sure where to.

I mentioned that earlier.. dont you read??

Index = Mick Tinker = producer of Inside Out (aka Amiga on PCI or Siamese Amiga) and Access (A1200 mobo redesigned into SFF case) and Boxer (ATX A4000 style Amiga mobo)...

    Only Access went into production.

Amiga on PCI card was 80-90% there. Hardware was final. The software was being done by Paul Nolan of Photogenics fame and didnt get finished due to Steve Jones (HiQ/Siamese) pulling the plug financially (if I read it all right).

Damn shame cos this WAS what the future of the Amiga could have been.

The idea of a 3ghz P4 and Rad 9800 in a box with 50mhz 68060 Amiga (also using Rad 9800) is quite amazing to think of.....
