    Highpoint 1640 SATA RAID5 controller

    Highpoint 1640 SATA RAID5 controller
    Anyone got one of these, what are they like?

    I'm planning on going SATA raid5 and was contemplating getting one.
    In the specs it says they've got onboard bios, so they're bootable - can anyone say how it performs if booting from it?
    I was planning on just using it for storage and getting a couple of smaller SATA drives to run the o/s off (raid1) but if this controller performs well then theres no need for the extra "boot" drives.

    Thx.

    They're great especially if you overclock a lot or change your configurations often.

    I boot off my RAID 5 array, but I use a Promise card.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();
