Similar thread, check it out on the index. Anyway it matters very little for Barton, it seems all cores are very good and you'd need to be very unlucky to end up with one topping out below 2.1ghz which is as fast as a TbredB @ 2.2ghz. IMHO choose your Barton XP2500+ by price.

its really down to luck with the bartons, there are no real certain codes, my friends get 2.1 nothing more, while i get 2.3 at 220fsb, but thats with 1.875 v core...

try and see if you can buy one thats been tested from the second hands forum

what mobo/psu/mem/voltage is your friend running at. I've yet to hear of a barton of any stepping that wouldn't do 2.2ghz, well 2.35Ghz tbh, but 2.2Ghz easily with stock voltage or thereabouts.
