hi there
i got an sn95g5 the other week, and its very shiney. i'm using onboard sound to power a 5.1 system thru coax out, and also my headphones at night. is there any way to get the speakers to auto-mute when i plug the headphones in?

I'm only using a 2.1 setup, but mine mute when I plug the headphones in the front.
Simple answer, no . The analogue out on the back will cut when you complete the circuit via the front socket. It’s just a simple electronic circuit.Originally Posted by 5lab
Cutting the coax when headphones are put in is a little more complex as you would need more then just a simple (read VERY cheap) circuit, a little IC or software trick might do it but I can't think of an easy way to detect any change to the headphone/speaker circuit setup in software without some modding . Could be a nice project but I would not want to total my SN95G5 (or any of my Shuttles for that matter).
