    looking for 1GB single ram

I want to knwo if such ram exists, and that if any does more than PC3200?

Geil value has a 1GB stick and Adata has one as well, but both offer really really crappy timing like 3-4-4-8 for 200MHz, i want to know if any exists for higher speeds or tighter timings?

hmmm, the 3200 ones are the same as Geil but being 100 quid more expensive, and C2 ones are just not available now

Larger modules will always have looser timings for the same speed.

    Crucial do a PC4000 1GB stick:

What Buff says is true though, and you pay a premium price for 1GB sticks as they're difficult to make, and there's not a great deal of demand right now.

ya, i found the ones i am looking for Ballistix as well.

should be decent. 350 quid for 3-3-3-8 @ 250MHz much better than the 280 corsiar 200MHz 3-3-3-8 rated stuff

A guy on Xtremesystems managed to get two sticks of the Ballistix stable in dual channel at 250MHz with 1T command rate on S939....he was using a Clawhammer though.

interesting. is there a lot of problem in getting the ram working at considerable speeds?

i thought the ballistix stuff are 2-2-2 rated at pc3200

Basically, the more RAM you use, the harder it is for the memory controller to run it at high speeds. For some reason I don't fully understand, it's harder to run 2GB as 4x512MB than it is to run 2x1GB, but both are tougher for the mem controller than running 1GB.

ya, a bit odd, but the only thing i can imagine is the chips are higher density thus harder to push

explains why people still use 2X256MB for benches.
