    Pre-order AMD Athlon 64 3200

Dunno if this has already been said, but you can pre-order the AMD Athlon 64 3200 from CPU City http://www.cpucitystore.co.uk/catalo...roducts_id=295

Only £358.38 Although the actual pre-order button isn't working

Unfort despite that thing rocking it isn't a very good buy, much like the SlotA the socket's going to be updated. The 754pin Athlon64 is Single Channel, I don't know how that will affect perf, only 5%ish on SktA. 940pin is Dual Channel but really rebadged Opteron and requires registered RAM which is not ideal. The final 939pin socket should be with us early 2004 and this will bring Dual Channel with normal RAM, by then prices should be more reasonable too. Whatever you do, wait for 939.

don't see why, the fsb won't be getting very high, and with crucial ECC pc3200 very cheap, £80 or something from dabs.com for a 512MB stick of ECC registered, not so bad.

the socket 940 version of the asus nf3 also has a ECC enable/disable option in the bios, so maybe ECC ram won't be needed, who knows.(cept all of us in like another 6 hours.)

I'd expect NDA to lift either midnight west US where AMD are based, or around 10am-12pm when a lot of NDA's lift for good timing for press releases over there.

Errm, also, think there is a live webcast mentioned on [H] frontpatge, at 10am over there, or 1pm can't remember, either way, that might be a safe bet, which makes for 4-5pm here, which makes for, like with teh 3200+ and opterons, most stores will show them for sale tomorrow now(wednesday)
