Re: I need a new *reliable* mouse

Well, I still have my G502 despite the LMB not working at all on it, so I decided to give it a try. The first brick wall I hit, the mouse feet came apart when removing them. Found a new set on the Logitech website for £2. Sorted. :edit: Never mind, they want to charge £10 for delivery!!!

Sadly, the second brick wall I hit was that I don't have a phillips screwdriver small enough to remove the screws.

I'll get one from my local hardware store next time I'm out and see if I can fix this mouse. Cheers!

You can get the teflon pads and rubber grip off Ebay:
    https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_f..._stpos=DA125RF
    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Logitech-...oAAOSwOPVew6pC

Anyway try that repair, you don't need to desolder the switch, just bend the piece of metal back.

Also,if you want a cheap and reliable mouse, this one is solid:
    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-O...temCondition=3

It has a basic laser sensor, but has been around for years.

    G400s and G402

Got both of these using the 402 at the moment it's an excellent mouse and high quality expect it to last decades.

I'm still using my MX518 here. Sadly it looks nothing like the photos anymore

There are many. I personally use Logitech G502 hero performance which is on the top of the in every aspect bur as compare to G402 but not too much, it’s a bit expensive. The DPI is up to 12,000 an has the advanced gaming sensor. The 11 programmable buttons are also fully functioning plus gives me the ultimate gaming experience and no doubt it’s the best budget gaming mouse

Currys are selling the Corsair M55 for £22.99 at the moment. Use the code FNDDGAMING to get £5 odd the advertised price of £27.99

Re: I need a new *reliable* mouse

I've been using a Roccat Kone for 5 years, including when working at home. Not had a single issue with it and find it super comfortable. I'd definitely give another Roccat a go for my next mouse, but was surprised it's actually been 5 years since I bought it (had to check my previous Amazon orders). I paid just shy of £30 for it and I think it was an Amazon warehouse deal, so may have even had a bit of use before I had it!

Re: I need a new *reliable* mouse

    Interesting thread. Very interesting.

I must admit I've never bothered with "fancy" mice. I'm currently using an MS Arc mouse with a Surface Pro (which I guess is pretty fancy, but not in the normal way) and the mouse that came with a £40 Logitech mouse/kb combo about 10 years ago. Both are fine.

Beyond that, I still use one of the very early Logitech laser mice (requires it's own special mousemat) and several MS mice that go back to two button (some with wheel) that I've been using since .... oh, about 1984. My very first PC came with an MS mouse and while the PC has long since retired to the Great Recycling Centee in the Sky, the mouse still works perfectly. In some 35+ years, I have yet to have a mouse fail. Reading this thread, I pretty sure I wouldn't be able to make that claim in 35 years from now.

Mind you, it's a sign of the times. My first washing machine was, I'm convinced, made of recycled WW2 battleship armour plate, and weighed about the same as a modern Rangerover. Current ones are more likefoil witth the weight of a tin of baked beans (without the beans). I've seen some I wouldn't dare buy, in case I sneezed and blew it into the next county.
