    Keyboards

Any of the Hexus massive into the modified keyboard scene?

Currently have Keychron Q1 V2 with the following mods -

Tape mod - tape the back of the PCB with a few layers of masking tape
Switches - Gateron G Pro 2.0 Yellow switches - lubed with Krytox GPL 205, springs in the switches lubed with Krytox GPL 105 oil
    Keycaps - Drop + Matt30 MT3 SUSUWATARI

Will post pics of the before and after for the keycaps and video's of the sound difference when I'm back at my PC later, if I remember.

    Re: Keyboards

As long as my keyboard does its job, that's good enough for me.

So I'm still happy with my Logitech G110.

I did buy a Logitech G910 earlier in the year however, but that's mostly in case the G110 ever fails (and that seemed to be the closest replacement to it).

    Re: Keyboards

Logitech K280e here at home and an old Microsoft Surface Bluetooth Keyboard from about 12 years ago at work, having to mess with tape and lube seems a bit of a stretch to me, are these customisable expensive keyboards really worth it?

    Re: Keyboards

Still use a Logitech G15 Rev 1 for work. Used to be on my gaming rig for many years until I went to the G910.

Actually prefer the G15, love that thing.

    Re: Keyboards

In the market for a new keyboard actually. Got a couple of Logitech G ones, but the one I'm currently using (G413) is starting to show it's age (5 years) - registering double or not at all occasionally (makes passwords interesting!). Ugh these things seem expensive now though - might just get a cheap something instead! Can always dump the new one upstairs on my wife's desk if it's a bit naff...

I guess I could take it apart once I've got a replacement, not really sure what I'd do with it when it's in pieces though!

    Re: Keyboards

Got a Keychron K10 Pro and V. happy, bought a HL escape keycap, a few switches to test. Now sort of happy and haven't tinkered with it for a while!

    Re: Keyboards

Replying a lot later than I expected to.

I didn't originally see the appeal in custom keyboards, couldn't understand why someone would do all that work, spend all that time and money on a keyboard. Then I visited a friend who had a built a custom board and saw the appeal so built my own. The mods change the sound / feel of the keys, definitely for the better in my opinion.
