Monitor extension cables?

Few questions:

1) Can you buy cables that will lengthen the picture cable (dont know terminology) from the monitor by just plugging them together.

2) What lengths do they come in?

Designing my own desk and its a long way from my case to my monitor.

Be sure to get the ones that are properly shielded, because the longer the cable, the higher likelihood of the signals being disrupted by electromagnetic interference...

And the amount of interference you will get at those lengths will be indistinguishable...

It's true to a certain extent, but it is entirely dependent on what else you've got on the floor...

I'd love to build an EMP generator, just for a laugh. It'd be very amusing to use at night and watch like whole streets go dark...

If the cable is too long you will get a fuzzy effect on your screen. 2m is about the maximum unless you use a decent KVM switch which boosts the signal.

The only time I have been able to use a 3m plus cable without a booster is when using a DVI-I cable which, of course, requires a TFT panel.
