    Final Specification Questions

    AMD Athlon 64 FX55 - £563 or £444 from USA
    Asus A8N-SLi Deluxe nForce4 SLi - £107
    Corsair 1GB DDR XMS4400 TwinX - £132
    2x BFG GeForce PCX6600 GT OC 128MB DDR3 - £158 - 2x = £316
    or
    BFG GeForce 6800 GT OC 256MB DDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI - £270
    Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 Plus 200GB - £73
    Tagan TG530-U22 530W ATX2.01 2Force SLi Compliant Silent PSU - £93
    NEC ND3540 16x16 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter - £37
    Silverstone Temjin TJ05 - £115

    £1278

    £1390 w/ 6800GT

    £1436 w/ 6600GT SLI

I wouldn't mind getting a watercooling kit with that... The CoolRiver kit (£69) isn't exactly top of the range but it has a northbridge, vga and cpu block included.

I'm also undecided as to buy a 6600GT SLI setup or a 6800GT setup. I'm pretty sure the memory's ok... As for the CPU, should I drop down a level to the 4000+ San Diego? Should I get a DFI motherboard instead of Asus?

I'm confused... I'd like to build a very High-Spec system but I cannot afford a 6800 Ultra or Ultra SLI setup as far as I know. Do you have any recommendations for better products to this list?

    Thanks though.

Go with the 6800GT IMO, you get more for your money.

I would get the DFI mobo, you'll be able to clock it further......regards to the chip, i dont think theres going to be an awful lot in difference between the SD and the FX, well not a justifiable difference for that price! ....then for the Graphics Card, i would go with the 6800gt and then maybe buy another at a later date...

Thats just IMO, i am building a similar rig at the moment too.

    Cheers

    Darren

    I finalized the specs...

    AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego - £230
    Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe nForce4 SLi - £104
    1GB Corsair TwinX PC3200C2PRO - £91
    Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 Plus 200GB - £73
    2xBFG GeForce 6800 GT OC 256MB DDR3 - £540
    Sony DWD 26 Black 16x16x4 DVD±RW Dual Layer DVD +- Writer - £34
Black/Silver Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Keyboard & Mouse - £27
    Enermax Noisetaker 600W - £93
    SilverStone "TEMJIN" J05B - £91

    Total - £1308

I figured I can overclock the 3700+ to at least 4000+ level and save some money. I changed the power supply because I wanted to test out another brand that has great reviews. Getting 6800GT OC SLi now...

I could probably buy a better CPU but I'm not sure if there's any point?

Thoughts? Otherwise I'll just order this early next month.

    Thanks for all the input.
