RAM and Harddrive input required ASAP

    Corsair (TWINX1024-3200C2PT)

    Is this ram any good?

Is there any better for similar money??

What are the best SATA drives at the moment?
I'm looking for a couple of 160Gb one or possibly 200Gb.

Going to order this later ready to build the machine this weekend!

Any sugestions of good e-tailers as I'm put off by Ebuyer as they have just take a week to deliver my motherboard.

    Cheers

Scan is very good. Savastore also. Cpucity.

That ram is good for the money. Get a seagate HDD.

What about the rest of the system?

    Cheers I'll have a look.

This is the confirmed components just for the initial get it up and running!

    Asus A8N SLI Deluxe
ATI X700 Pro 256Mb (ATI built)
    3200 Winchester stock HS+Fan.

Building the machine on a buget at the moment but I cannot see it staying like this for long.

I'm not a fan of Scan either the sent me a DVD drive covered in one layer of bubble wrap and then stuffed in a bag so when it arrived damaged they blamed the courier. It still took them a further 2 weeks to sort it all out and a number of phone calls.

U must be unlucky my man. I have had good experiences with Savastore.

How much are you buying the x700 for?

I would get an Nvidia 6600gt (unless you are an ATi fanboy). They are faster then the x700's and usually cheaper.

The X700 has cost me £73 it's 2 months old.

The 6600GT is one of my next upgrades but I'll look at getting 2 for SLI or possible a 6800(and it ain't even built yet LOL). I do like my Ati cards though.

Id also give G.skill ZX a look for about the same price on overclockers.co.uk, not sure how these two compare though to be honest.

Just though I'd fill you guys in I've ordered the Corsair (TWINX1024-3200C2PT)

But on my travels I came aross these Hitachi Deskstar T7K250 NCQ 160GB these are Sata2 drives and as the motherboard supports these I thought I would give them a try.
I only managed to find one store with these and as luck has it the did the ram too.
Does anybody else make the sata2 drives yet? I was surprised to find them as I didn't think they where available yet.

As you can tell I'm new to the site and I wasn't aware that the site had trader feedback.

Will look at this in the future tho

I know some people have had a few problems with RMA'ing goods back through them. Shame, they stock a lot of stuff others don't too.
