I'm going to get a new HD, probably about 120GB, SATA.
Which is the better manufacturer, Seagate or Western Digital, in terms of performance?
Also what is NCQ on the Seagates?
Thanks in advance.

Native command queing. It allows the drive to acces files in the order they are in on the drive instead of the exact order they are requested. If your SATA controler supports NCQ, definatly get a NCQ drive, it can be a significant perfromance increase over non ncq drives.
take a look on www.storagereview.com, they have a database of loads of drives, comparing performance vs each other.
