My watercooling kit has been very slowly coming into shape and due to the hot weather i got a move on and finished it. Foir those that havent read my other posts on the matter the system cost £70 to build and is as follows:
Hydor l30 (quiet, and getting quieter)
XSPC 120-D
2 120mm fans at 6v each (almost silent from my seat)
Reservoir made fomo drain pipe.
RBX waterblock with accelerator plate #5
Zerex coolant
Reinforced tubing
Think thats everything. Now the beast im trying to cool is a 3ghz s478 prescott. With the stock cooling and some as5 i could get to 3.6ghz but no more with temps of 53 - 63 degrees C in this hot weather. After watercooling it dropped to 35 - 37 at the same settings. Im happy with this drop.
Now i am running it at 3.9 ghz at 1.6 volts getting 45 degrees load. Im a little concerned this voltage is a little high as is my temp. Any thoughts?
The arctic silver is still settling in and i am still experimenting so hope to go higher, i tried this momentarily but i doubt its stable, ill test it later:
