Just a quick qn, whats the stock (defualt) speed in ghz of an athlon XP 2800+ barton? Cos i'm reading different speeds depedning where i look on the web, some say 2.25 ghz, whilst others say 2.075ghz, i know mine started at 2.075 b4 i o/c'ed it, but i just want to make sure It didnt start too low

i think the 2500+ stack is 1.8ghz like so it sounds right 2 me.
should be 2.08Ghz, so your is fine
You should be able to get it to 11.5X200 with no problems.

cool thx, just a bit worrying when even the hexus webby (in the bit about o/cing a 1700+) says that a 2600+ has a stock of 2.25ghz
Gotta get some new ram before i can overclock any more tho:/ half my ram is pc 2100 and it decides to crash if i up the fsb more than a few mhz, this prob shld be fixed when i get some new ram tho

its a good price, no need to pay the extra for the 3000 or 3200 as the 2800 will easily goto their speeds(or so i'm told) ive only got mine up to 2114.2mhz but that was only by upping the fsb by 3mhz

You can get a XP2500+ to 2530Mhz with 1.9v quite easy and most will do 2300Mhz on default voltage, but they only have an extrea 256k cache which in real speed terms is notthat much, equal to less than 100Mhz I belive.
