    recording cctv to hard drive?

    hi there

    i was wondering if any1 can gimme some helpful info regarding recording cctv footage to my pc instead of the old style video cassete,ie if it can be done wot are the parts ide need to make this possible and how expensive would it be.

    ide appreciate any info please.

    Yes it can be done, either using a normal capture card, or with a special 4 input cctv card, cant recall who makes it at the mo.

    You could also go for a DVR, which is basicallya hard disk recorder, that will get you about 3 months of video on a 120gig, more if you enable motion sensing.

    The stand alone units are a couple of hundred pounds (last time i sold one at least).

    They do have a lot of features like motion detection and stuff.
