    New Microsoft Mouse/Keyboard Set

Microsoft’s not officially announcing these for another couple weeks, but it’s not like we’re really surprised anymore when mice or desktop sets go laser. But just as one last hurrah, you might like to know that as one of the biggest players, Microsoft’s Wireless Laser Desktop 6000 and new line of mice features—wait for it—laser-equipped optics. Their new Wireless Laser Desktop 6000 set should retail for $105, with their Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 at $65 bare, their Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 6000 at $55, and their Optical 5000 series between $35-55. So now that Logitech and MS have done it, where’s Apple at with the (wireless) laser Mighty Mouse (or would it be the Mighty Laser Mouse, or Mighty Mouse Laser)?

Looks quite nice, depends totally on the feel of it, would want to try it out first.

Takes a lot of desk space doesnt it? Personally I dont even use the 10 or so extra buttons on my current MS cheap keyboard, probably force of habit.

Looks nice if you have the space of course. Might be time for a mouse upgrade sooner rather then later. (side topic; still better to use USB optical mice as PS2 for refresh rate?)

It looks nice, but I don't like the extended space/control/alt buttons, I think they'd be a pain to type on. The mouse looks good though, however, is it just me or does that look like a non-side scroller?

It'll probably be decent, but I love my new style Dell USB keyboard and Mighty Mouse. It'd be nice if they were wireless, but I'm not all that fussed to be honest.

I definately think the inclusion of a forward button will make it more popular than the G7, but whether it can compete against the MX1000 is a different issue.
