    Small Factor and 64bit CPUs?

I would like to build a new (tiny) box with a 64bit CPU. I'll use it as a workhorse for some calculations and other things. It need to be silent.

Are there litte* motherboards that support some of the 64bit CPUs made by AMD? If not (as I suspect) when will they be available?

All I care for is support for 64bit CPUs, a fast memeory bus and at least 100/10MBit ethernet onboard.

    *little = picoBTX, mini-ITX or nano-ITX

There are several uATX boards for the A64...But I don't know of any mini-itx

Here are some links for uATX boards that are currently being produced...

    http://www.foxconnchannel.com/produc...ame=NF4K8MC-RS

    http://www.foxconnchannel.com/produc...me=NF4K8MC-ERS

The two Foxconn boards even support the Athlon 64X2!
Also, here are couple of forum links that list several boards each...

As for the heatsink...That would depend on the case you're using and your definition of "silent". Either way, be sure to check out "Silent PC Reviews" web site, they are pretty obsessed with making thing quiet and have lots of usefull info.

As far as mini/nano-itx goes, I'm afraid that I haven't heard of any. Pico-BTX is only being used by Intel for now (last I heard).

You might have some luck at http://www.mini-itx.com

    Hope this helps...
