Yeah but it is more indicative of where people want to see perf gains, esp when considering where to spend that extra bit of cash. Anyway thanks for investing the time in testing as I know many of us Hexusers will appreciate it as well as benefit from it.
2500 (12.5*200 2-2-2-5)
2500 (12.5*200 2.5-3-3-7)
I make that about 3.7%, but the strange thing was the animation on test's appeared much less smoth with slower timings. This may sound like me trying to sell my idea, but I still think 4% is a decent enough reason to use low latency anyhow. But the nature was the worst of the bunch, it was much smoother using tight timings and I tried the test's twice with both timings sets and took the highest of both. Although difference between high and low was about 0.03%
If you notice on the actual test's Lobby High and Low was around 6-7% different, whereas Dragothic High was about 1.5% different. The rest were around 3.5% different...
Well it certainly seems as though there are gains to be had, and 3-4% is certainly a great gain from RAM specific optimisation alone. The diff between Dual Channel and Single Channel is generally only 5% average (on SktA). What chipset are you using, nForce2 Dual Channel? I'd be interested in how general stuff like ICC or Sysmark would be affected but I'd guess it would be similar and I think you've done more than enough testing for us KAIN. So it would seem I was wrong, or at least unfair to lower latency ... so I guess it comes down to how much that 3%(ish) boost costs you ...
Yeah that's an NForce2 in Dual Channel.
If your really nice I'll do the test in single channel as well
I will dig out my copy of Sysmark 2k1.
ICC?
ICC = Internet Content Creation, don't worry about it though. As for Single Channel testing really don't worry, unless it's mostly to satisfy your curiosity. Sysmark would be interesting (in a geeky way of course).
