    a8n sli premium

    Hi

The a8n sli premium is £43 more than the a8n sli standard at Scan.
Do you consider it worth spending the extra to lose the fan?

    Thanks

It's not just the fan, I know it's dearer but the A8N Premium is a better board.

    Cases

I looked at the cases at xcase.co.uk
and really liked the A-Top X-Blade Black Deluxe Version
    http://www.xcase.co.uk/acatalog/A-To...de_deluxe.html
but came back again to the Akasa Eclipse-62

Yeah, if you're planning on overclocking, either get the 3700+ San Diego, or if you're willing to spend the cash, go for the X2 Dual-core 3800+. Both chips have lots of headroom to overclock.

There are easy ways to trim costs for the short term, I would suggest leaving the cpu, HD etc but maybe go for 1GB of Ram initially as this will be fine until you have the money to upgrade with another 1GB stick.

Also the 530w power supply could be substituted for the slightly cheaper 480w one. The side panel isn't essential (for now). I guess the trick is to do away with the thinks that can be easily bought at a later date but make sure your core components stay the same, i.e cpu, H.D, Motherboard etc. You have the underpinings of a nice machine so just trim the non essentials for now!!!
