how much is the bare case?

also - i don't understand how you rate it noisier than the serenti - as the tranquil has silent power and silent heatsink - yet the serenti has a fan in the power supply...

I think if you read the review, you will find that the noise came from the HD....

Price? Erm.... We're actually not selling them anymore, due to what I consider to be serious quality control & design issues, which the manufacturer has failed to respond to.....

so was the hard drive used in the serenti a quieter one then? sorry i don't mean to be picky it's just the tranquils meant to be designed for super quietness.

edit / sorry i've read the review now - it all makes sense ideally the hard drive needs to be not mounted directly to the case, because most of the time, the case will just amplify the noise of the case - that's why in dell's they mount the hd with rubber etc.

The problem with the Tranquil is that the HD is directly mounted on some brackets which seem to amplify noise & to which you can't add any form of isolation.
Secondly, the positioning of the cooling vents seems to let out the noise from the HD.
The HUSH doesn't suffer in the same way, as it doesnt have any cooling vents!
