pocket hard drive

I would like a 2.5" or smaller hard drive, probably 40 or more gigs and usb2. Can anyone suggest good ones, freecom seem quite good and reasonably priced?

Freecom are good, and self powered if its teh same 40gb as I use at work. Otherwise Western Digital did have a few, and were a bit cheaper, but were bigger than the freecom ones.

yeah thanks was looking at western digital seem pretty good, does anyone have experience with lacies?

I haven't, but the porsche designed ones suffered with heat issues, and are not exactly small. Haven't seen any others made by lacie, but I was mainly focusing on a large external hdd for backups.

That mans a genius, but... you have to have the apple supplied cable with you, but thats only me splitting hairs .

Have a look at Scan or Novatech. Novatech do their own brand of 40 or 60Gbyte - the two I bought had Hitachi Travelstar drives in them. Or you could buy a casing from Novatech or Scan (and probably other e-tailers) and fit the drive of your choice. I have bought cases from Scan and fitted my own drives into them.
