I'm in the market for a new PC. I've been considering getting the XP Media os, but as you know, you have to buy a pre-built jobbie. Has anyone looked at the options supplied by those that build these and are they worth the $1,200-$1,600 it is to purchase one?

On the other side, I'm thinking of just building a pc with good quality parts and then purchasing the software for video editing etc. Why a new computer? The wife wants to have the easy interface with all of the multimedia stuff. I mostly do development and gaming at times.
