Not sure if this is the correct place to ask this, but does anybody have any idea how to test whether inverter PCBs / backlights in laptop/TFT screens are working?
Some sort of meter, or testing device?

Hook them up and see if they blind you? In all seriousness though, just get a multimeter, put it over the invertors outputs, if you get ~800 ish volts then the board is good, and the back light should be pretty easy to test
Cheers, will give it a go. Wasn't really sure what sort of output to expect. You do this a lot?
Only on ccfl (for pc) invertors, but since they are essentially the same thing.
