My Sony Vaio is begining fail, trouble with disk, trouble with wifi.

Despite it being magnesium chassis the extrenal body is plastic & not tough. it looks like it has had a hard life, but in reality has never been dropped of bashed or treated with anything but care.

it looks like it will have to be returned & the warranty make no commitments to turnaround time, so I guess it will not be quick.

What 14-15" laptops are robustly built in your opinion? -
do any have a genuine metal case?
(I was told Macs do but a quik trip to a local superstore found only plastic.)
