In the US, on a FAA certificate, $1495 (£860) and can be done in as little as 3 days, assuming the weather. In the UK, on a JAA licence, £2300 and as long as the weather lasts. Both courses have 6 flying hours. You can fly on an FAA Private Pilot Certificate in the UK and throughout Europe, no reason to get the European licence. I'm going for instrument, commercial and instructor as well, but they are less photogenic.

Possibly a Raptor to boot Windows and games off (after more research), then in the second half of the year I may go for a graphics upgrade although I've kinda become attatched to my GTO²... Apart from that I think I'm okay for 12 months, then again who knows what the industry's about to unleash on us?

I might shove a bit more RAM in my dually, but I can't really see myself upgrading my PCs unless the bits get really cheap or I suddenly need more power for whatever reason.

Instead (and assuming I can get a job) I'll be saving for a DLP rear projection TV to watch the world cup on.

Assuming I can cling on with this machine, I'll try and last to M2 - but that might be too far away, so I might get some Socket 939 parts - hopefully M2 will at least make 939 cheaper.

Thinking about a dual core to replace the 4000+ I have at the moment, but thats about it - though I'll be interested to see what the new directX10 vista ready cards are like if they make it to market this year.
What we share with everyone is glum, and dark...
