AMD offers better value ALWAYS, because they have to. nVidia and ATi are always trading places depending on price bracket and features needed. Not so cut and dry.

As a system builder I have experienced far fewer compatibility issues with ATi, but both nVidia and ATi have driver problems. That's why Omega exists.
AMD don't always offer better value for money these days, there prices have risen considerabley since the A64. In the AXP days they definatly did.

    Not yet, despatched Monday

It will have the cooler as shown as I have seen it on other sites, plus it is the same as the dell OEM

EDIT: Oh and on the specs at the bottom - PCI Express support - Dual slot card

nVidia and ATI aren't always trading places in the Linux scene, nVidia are streets ahead and have been for years.

Just because your needs make them about even doesn't mean it's the same for everyone, for some (like me) is really IS that cut and dried.

I was speaking in general, not about anyone's specific needs, especially not mine or yours. This thread is not yours, so quit acting as if every post is pertaining to you, it doesn't! This thread belongs to s29feb.

    Smokey,

You're a monkey as usual. AMD kicks Intel's but in the value department. That doesn't mean every product AMD makes is cheaper than ever product Intel makes. It just means that every AMD CPU gives the consumer more power for the money (value).

I mainly play driving sim games, and theres a thread on RSC about the difference in display quality in GTR game between nVidia and ATi.
I bought a 7800GT and now wish i had got an X1800 whatever instead.

Its only specific to one or two games though (just the games i play..arrrgh)
