I don't think any of them have built a 939 board that is guaranteed to be rock solid and overclock well.

How about the Sapphire boards? e.g. http://www.sapphiretech.com/en/produ...s.php?gpid=117

I'm strongly considering that one to replace my Abit AV8.

    Cheers,
    Jez

I have a Asus Premium board. I'm really happy with mine as i've had no problems and my system has crashed 3 times in around 6 months.

I have only clocked my 3700SD chip to 2.57 as im running stock cooler and poor RAM. I'll be changing the cooler and ram in the next month and i'm sure i'll hit 2.8 with ease!

It has a great BIOS with loads of features.

I looked at the DFI and the reason i picked the Asus was due to it's rep, reliability was a MUST!

nothing worse than having to fix your pc every week!

In DFI's defence....if you get a good one they are amazing and can clock really high!!!!!!

    Thanks for the replies guys.

Looks like I'm going to have to spend a little time looking more closely at these boards before making a choice.

It seems that there is roughly a 50:50 split between the users of both of these boards and both have their foibles.

Why is nothing simple these days?

Does anyone know of any new boards planned by these manufacturers in the next few months? I've had a look and can't find any info.

Abit have AN8 32X, AT8 & UL8 Pro announced & hopefully due in retail shortly.
Use nVidia C51D, ATi RD480 (with ULi southbridge) & ULi 1697 chipsets respectively.

Pretty certain that DFI have a C51D board planned & probably an update to their ATi chipset board.

Have to be honest I've not been a fan of the latest Abit kit. I've just found it nowhere near the standard of the likes of Asus.

I'll take a look at the boards you have mentioned though and hopefully these will restore my faith in the Abit brand. I have a PC with a trusty KT133 board in and its been flawless (almost) for nearly 5 years.

    Thanks again chaps.
