at load 57 max when i use cpu stress on 3dmark06 then goes down to 52c

but now i have 54c idle ?? why

Whats the airflow in your case like ? cables etc.That could have a lot to do with your temps as the hot air might be recirculating.

Even a stock HSF would keep your temps in the early 30s. I have an arctic cooler pro on my 4200 o/c to 2.4 and it idles at 27

i have a front 92 fan a 120 side case straight above the CPU.. (just fitted) and 2 60m fans for rear also i have a scan 256 (HEAT PIPE -THE 512 COOLER) gtx and that gives off heat from both sides ( not just exhaust port) also i have 2 hard drives AND 2 WRITERS and the A8N32 board and the card and hard drives are near the bottom heat sink for the sx16 chip i think i have a hot spot there?? AND scan alumax case

like you say the heat must be running around there so i may move the 120 down there some ware and put a freezer 64 on CPU to sort out air flow ..

my ols xp3200 and 5950 run hotter but i got them lower than this in this case

also the inside is mega tidy cables run around the back out of way .. well cableing is bang on put it that way.. just want to no due to the gear i have is it right temp..

wot system do you have? 2 or one hard drive ie wot? sound card?

looking at wot you have on system spec i have more ..

3hdd's in the box with 2 optical drives, an x800, case is an erm, cant remember the make, lian li or something, one of there ally things
